Online Tournaments – COD4

***DISCLAIMER:
Unless video or picture evidence is provided for breaking one of the general rules, no dispute can be made ***

1. Tournaments will be Division 1 only.
2. Teams will be seeded into Pools for the initial Division 1 Tournament(s) randomly.
3. After completion of the first CoD4 Online Tournament, Teams will be seeded into Pools based on the top 4 Team member’s Online Tournament Rank Points. Teams without points will be seeded into Pools randomly.
4. Rank Points over the course of each player’s last 5 CoD4 Online Tournaments will be averaged. The average for the top 4 Players on each Team will be added together to determine the Team’s Seed for Pool Play.
5. Each Pool will contain 4-5 Teams.
6. Each Tournament will have up to 16 Pools.
7. Game Types will be scheduled for each Round of Pool Play and Bracket Play.

Teams

1. Each Team must contain 1 Captain and at least 3 other Players.
2. The Captain of each Team can give Co-Captain status to any teammates.
3. Captains and Co-Captains are able to reschedule Matches and report Scores.
4. Team Rosters for a Tournament may contain a 5th and 6th member who can act as Substitutes.
5. Teams with a Substitute can switch Players between Games, but never during Games.
6. No Team Roster or XBL Gamer Tag changes may be made once a Tournament has started.
7. Use of an incorrect XBL Gamer Tag will result in a Forfeit of the Game. Spelling and spacing of Gamer Tags on mlgpro.com must be exact, but they don’t have to be correctly capitalized.
8. Check the opposing Team’s Roster before starting the Match. If any of their XBL Gamer Tags are not listed, take a picture with a timestamp and instruct the Team that they will not be able to play with the invalid Gamer Tag(s). If 2 or more Games are played with an invalid Gamer Tag(s), rule #7 will be void, and the Match Scores will be submitted to record.

Scheduling and Playing Matches

1. All members of a Team will be sent an email notification that includes their next opponent, Game Types, and Default Match Time.
2. All Match information can also be found in the Online Tournaments section of www.mlgpro.com.
3. Captains (or Co-Captains) from opposing Teams can reschedule a Match as long as the proposed time is agreed upon and lies before the Reporting Deadline. The new Match time must be posted as a new thread by one Team’s Captain (or Co-Captain) in the MLG Online Tournaments section of the forums. The Captain (or Co-Captain) of the other Team must then respond in the thread for the Match to be officially rescheduled.
4. If a proposed rescheduling of the Match time has not been agreed upon, the Match is required to be played at the Default Match Time.
5. Tournaments will run on a Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday schedule.
6. The Default Match Time will be 9 PM EST.
7. If by 15 minutes past the scheduled Match time, a Team doesn’t have enough Players to play the Games, the incomplete Team Forfeits the Match.
8. Teams must have at least 3 members present in order to start a Game.
9. Players must appear offline for the entire Match.
10. If a Player loses their connection to a Game, the Game must continue.
11. If a Game is ended because the Host drops from the Game, the Team that hosted will Forfeit the Game regardless of the score.
12. Games must be played over Xbox Live.
13. All scheduled Games must be played back to back. No warm-up or practice Games are permitted once the Match’s first Game has begun.
12. All scheduled Games must be played back to back. No warm-up or practice Games are permitted once the Match’s first Game has begun.

Host

1. The Host must be agreed upon by all Players to be reasonable (all Players with green bars) before the start of a Game. If a reasonable Host can’t be found, the Team’s best Host must be used.
2. Teams should play a test Game for roughly 30 seconds before a new Host is going to be used in order to determine if the Host is reasonable. Test Games should be played using a Game Type the Teams are not scheduled to play against each other so that Players aren’t confused about whether the Match has officially begun or not.
3. Hosting players must create the player match to ensure that they are given Host. As the hosting Team changes over the course of a Match, the new Host must leave the player match and create a new one to ensure that they are given Host for that Game.
4. If a Player’s connection to the Host becomes unreasonable during a Game, the Game must still be played. After each Game, either Team may request for a new Host to be tested if the previous Host was unreasonable.

Reporting Scores

1. Match Scores must be reported by Captains (or Co-Captains) before the Reporting Deadline.
2. The Reporting Deadline is 24 hours after the Default Match Time.
3. If both Teams fail to report the Scores by the deadline they will both Forfeit.
4. If both Teams report the same Scores, they will be submitted to record.
5. If only 1 Team reports Scores, they will be submitted to record at the Reporting Deadline.
6. If both Teams report different Scores, Online Tournament Administrators will review the Match and submit the appropriate Scores to record.
7. At least one member of each Team should take a screenshot or digital photograph of the final Score of each Game in a Match, displaying the number of Rounds won by each Team, the Players on each Team, and the overall winner of the Game. Screenshots or digital photographs should be time stamped.
The screenshots or digital photographs should be transferred to the user's computer and then uploaded to a free image-hosting site such as MLG Gameroom. The direct URL for each image should be provided in the URL entry fields when reporting a Match Score.

Protests - Cheating & Behavior

1. Video or screenshots are necessary in order to file a Protest. The videos should be transferred to the user's computer then uploaded to a free video-hosting site such as MLG Gameroom. Protests can’t be made after the Reporting Deadline. Protests can’t be made after the Scores have been submitted to record.
2. Unsportsmanlike behavior and verbal abuse will not be tolerated. Punishable behavior includes, but is not limited to excessive use of foul or degrading language.
3. All Protests must be submitted in the form of a dispute of the Match Scores.
4. Any form of cheating or unsportsmanlike behavior may result in a Forfeit of a Game, Match, or ban from the current and/or future Online Tournaments.

General Rules

1. No leaving the normal boundaries of a Map.
2. No use of Grenade Launchers.
3. No use of Frag x 3 Perk.
4. No removing players on the opposing Team from the private match once a Game has started.
5. No starting Games until all Player’s status has been set to ready.
6. Breaking of these rules will result in a Forfeit of the Game.
7. Starting a Game with the wrong Game Type Settings may result in a Forfeit of the Game.

Pool Play

1. Teams will play 1 Match against each of the Teams in their Pool as either the Home Team or the Away Team.
2. Each Match will consist of 3 Games.
3. All 3 Games must be played even if one Team wins the first 2.
4. The Away Team will choose the Game they want to Host and Host that Game first. The Home Team will Host the other 2 Games.
5. All Domination Games require that each Team play 1 Round as the OpFor/Spetsnaz team and 1 Round as the Marines/S.A.S. team. Scores from each Round must be added to determine the winner of the Game. If each Team has the same Game Score after 2 Rounds, the Game must be reported as a tie.
6. The non-hosting Team will choose whether they are the OpFor/Spetsnaz team for Round 1 or 2 of a Domination Game. The non-hosting Team will choose whether they are the OpFor/Spetsnaz or Marines/S.A.S. team for Round 1 of a Search & Destroy.
7. The top 2 Teams in each Pool, as determined by cumulative wins, losses, and ties will advance to Bracket Play.
8. Wins are worth 2 points, ties 1 point, and losses 0 points.
9. At the end of Pool Play, cumulative record ties, within a Pool, will be broken using the following tiebreakers in this order: head to head record, average point differential in Search & Destroy Games (Forfeits will not be averaged), and coin flip. Coin flips will not be used to eliminate a Team. In ties of this case, a tiebreaker Game will be scheduled before the start of Bracket Play.
10. To determine seeds for Bracket Play, all Teams finishing 1st in their Pool will be seeded ahead of all Teams finishing 2nd.
11. At the end of Pool Play, cumulative record ties between Teams from different Pools will be broken using the following tiebreakers in this order: CoD4 Online Tournament Rank Points, average point differential in Search & Destroy Games (Forfeits will not be averaged), and coin flip.
12. Teams advancing to Bracket Play from the same Pool won’t be matched up against each other in the first Round.

Bracket Play

2. Once one Team wins 3 Games, the Match is over.
3. All Domination Games require that each Team play 1 Round as the OpFor/Spetsnaz team and 1 Round as the Marines/S.A.S. team. Scores from each Round must be added to determine the winner of the Game. If each Team has the same Game Score after 2 Rounds, the Game must be replayed.
4. The higher seeded Team will Host Games 1, 2, & 5. The lower seeded Team will Host Games 3 & 4. Before the Match starts, Teams will take turns choosing the Game Types they want to Host with the lower seeded Team getting the first choice.
5. The higher seeded Team will choose whether they are the OpFor/Spetsnaz team for Round 1 or 2.
